Job Summary
Co-Occurring Disorders Counselor - ACT: Provide integrated, evidence-based co-occurring treatment (mental health and substance use) within Assertive Community Treatment teams. Responsibilities include individual and group counseling, conducting substance use assessments with trauma histories, developing and reviewing wellness plans, cross-training on dual diagnosis practices, participating in daily team and treatment planning meetings, maintaining documentation, and providing community-based services with transportation support as needed. Requirements include High School/GED, a Bachelor’s degree (with Master’s preferred for therapists), a Master’s degree if applying as a therapist, 1+ year of supervised substance use treatment experience, valid driver’s license, and licensure/certification options (CADC/CRADC/CRAADC/CCDP/CCJP or Missouri licensed therapist). Desired qualities emphasize team-based, wraparound care, relationship-building, adaptability, teaching, and commitment to recovery in underserved communities.
Required Qualifications
- High School/GED required
- Bachelor’s degree required unless otherwise approved by DMH
- Master's Degree, if applying as a therapist
- At least one (1) year of training or supervised experience in substance use treatment
- A valid driver's license and agency-established minimum automobile coverage required
- Qualified Addiction Professional credential (CADC, CRADC, CRAADC, CCDP, or CCJP – Missouri) OR Licensed therapist in Missouri (PLPC, LPC, LMSW, LCSW, LMFT, or PLMFT)
