Job Summary
Prepare, cook, and serve meals, salads, and a la-carte items according to standardized recipes while maintaining accurate food preparation documentation. Act as a cashier to collect monies and record sales using a computerized point of sale system, ensuring precise meal counts and fee recording. Follow sanitation codes to keep kitchen areas, equipment, and dining spaces clean, and perform housekeeping duties including sweeping, mopping, and washing tables. Provide customer service to students, parents, and staff while complying with the Wake County Public Schools Child Nutrition Handbook. Complete on-the-job training for federally reimbursable meals and identification procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to use a variety of equipment such as computers, scanners, copiers, and cafeteria/food preparation equipment
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects up to forty pounds
- Ability to work in an office and school cafeteria environment and come into direct contact with school system staff, students, parents, and the community
