Job Summary
Greet customers, answer phone inquiries, and direct shoppers to appropriate products while providing technical assistance on selection, use, and installation. Perform sales counter functions including order entry, price lookups, and writing sales orders using the point-of-sale system. Merchandise shelves, stock incoming product, face and front inventory, and assist with cycle counting and customer loading. Maintain a clean selling area, notify customers of promotions, and report pricing or scanning errors via the Resource Center. Remain vigilant for shoplifting, follow safety guidelines, and participate in safety meetings. This hourly, non-exempt position requires strong math and communication skills, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and basic knowledge of lumber or building materials.
Required Qualifications
- previous work experience dealing with retail sales or general customer service
- strong math, reading, writing, and speaking skills
- friendly demeanor

- good organizational skills
- ability to communicate using telephone and e-mail
- Basic knowledge of lumber, building materials, or general hardware merchandise
- Must be able to lift and load merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs. for various amounts of time
