Job Summary
Chief Nursing Officer responsible for onsite executive leadership of nursing operations, clinical quality, workforce stability, and day-to-day hospital leadership across inpatient nursing and emergency services in a rural community hospital; partner with system leadership to execute strategic priorities locally; build relationships with physicians, staff, and community stakeholders; foster a transparent, accountable culture; provide leadership for budgeting, labor management, and capital planning; mentor managers and emerging leaders; drive recruitment, retention, and succession planning; champion patient safety, quality, regulatory readiness, and operational efficiency while maintaining local autonomy and a servant-leadership approach.
Required Qualifications
- RN licensure with BSN required
- Master’s degree preferred (MSN, MHA, MBA, or related field)
- 7+ years of progressive nursing leadership experience
- Experience in rural, critical access, or community hospital environments strongly preferred
- Ability to lead through transition and organizational change
- Financial and operational acumen beyond nursing operations
- A visible, approachable, servant-leadership style
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
