CNC Workshop Team Leader

Job Summary
Lead a CNC workshop team of around 6 people in Bordeaux to organize daily priorities, allocate machines, monitor production, and ensure on-time delivery of high-precision aerospace parts. Drive shop-floor routines focusing on progress, blockers, safety, quality, and delivery risks; manage team performance, training, onboarding, and continuous improvement. Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Metrology, Supply Chain, and Design Engineering; ensure compliance with AS/EN 9100/ISO 9001 and maintain traceability and manufacturing documentation. Support and challenge CNC programming and machining strategies for 3-axis/5-axis milling, CNC turning, mill-turn, and grinding; optimize machine utilization, setup time, cycle time, first-time-right, and delivery adherence. Require strong CNC machining background, CAM programming, and knowledge of aerospace materials; fluent in French and English; familiar with HyperMill, Haas, Mazak, DMG MORI, Studer equipment is a plus. This role offers relocation support and visa sponsorship where applicable and places emphasis on leadership of a hands-on production team in a European space company context.
Required Qualifications
- Strong CNC machining experience including 3-axis milling, 5-axis milling, CNC turning and/or mill-turn
- CAM programming knowledge and tooling/workholding expertise
- Experience with aerospace materials (aluminium, stainless steel, Inconel) and high-precision manufacturing
- Experience in aerospace/space/defense/high-precision industries
- Proven ability to lead a technical production team and manage daily shop-floor priorities
- Strong problem-solving skills and pragmatic leadership style
- Proficiency in French and English
- Knowledge of AS/EN 9100 and ISO 9001 quality standards
- Ability to organize workload, machine allocation, and production follow-up
- Experience with ERP/MES tools (e.g., Odoo) and shop-floor visual management
