Job Summary
Operate CNC machines and perform sanding, surface preparation, and finishing duties to prepare wood products for the production process. Conduct woodworking tasks including cutting, shaping, assembling components, general fabrication, and light assembly. Load materials, set up fixtures for CNC, and understand basic CNC programming concepts related to wood applications (e.g., toolpaths for routing, panel nesting). Use hand and power tools safely, perform quality checks on finished products, and maintain a clean, safe work area. Maintain and troubleshoot tools and equipment, and respond to design/production changes as needed. Second shift: 2:00PM–10:30PM; location in Philadelphia, PA; in-person work.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in using routers, jointers, planers, table saws, and general sanding equipment
- Basic experience operating a CNC machine for woodworking tasks
- Familiarity with blueprint reading and basic CAD/CAM files used in furniture or cabinetry production
- Ability to adapt to changes in design or production needs and problem-solve on the fly
- 3+ years of experience in similar position, preferred
- Familiarity and prior experience with sanding techniques and finishing products
- Good communication skills and experience working independently to complete tasks
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and meet quality standards
- Comfortable with lifting and handling heavy materials
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in woodworking a plus
