CNC Turn and Grind Set-Up Operator (3rd Shift)

Job Summary
Set up and operate CNC turning and grinding machines to cut, shape, and form metal workpieces to precise specifications. Read blueprints and process sheets to determine machining requirements, then mount workpieces manually and select, install, and adjust cutting tools and fixtures. Enter commands into CNC controls, monitor operations for deviations, and perform drilling, boring, turning, and grinding to close tolerances. Inspect parts using micrometers, dial gauges, and calipers, making necessary adjustments to feeds, speeds, and settings. Replace worn tools and perform daily inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment. Record production and quality data accurately while maintaining inventory logs and following ISO 9001 standards. Work independently and collaboratively in a manufacturing facility, moving materials with pallet jacks and adhering to all safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Minimum one-year related experience and/or training
- Proven experience in CNC turning and grinding operations
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints
- Skilled in using precision measuring instruments
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards and quality control procedures
- Ability to work independently and in team environments
- Effective communication skills in one-on-one and small group settings
- Must regularly stand
- Must frequently walk and reach with hands and arms
- Must occasionally climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities including close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
