Job Summary
Set up and operate manual and CNC mills or lathes while programming using CAM software such as Mastercam or Gibbs CAM. Interpret complex blueprints and GD&T requirements, manufacture precision tooling, dies, fixtures, or custom components, and perform first-piece and in-process inspections. Maintain tight tolerances of ± .0005 or as required, troubleshoot and correct machining issues, and ensure a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience required
- Journeyman certification required
- Mastercam and/or Gibbs CAM experience required
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and GD&T
- Technical Proficiency Required: Precision measurement equipment (gages, indicators, micrometers, Trimos height gages, etc.)
- Ability to setup, program and operate CNC and Manual Mills, EDM Wire, Sinker, Surface grinders, Manual lathes, Drill presses, Saws and basic hand tools
Desired Qualifications
- Background in the metal stamping industry preferred
- Knowledge of progressive stamping tooling, gauges, and fixtures
- Knowledge of heat-treating processes
- Good communication skills, especially with others
- Team player
- Independent worker
