Job Summary
CNC Technical Solutions Specialist at Mate Precision Technologies in Anoka, MN. Role combines hands-on machining experience with customer-facing engineering support: evaluate customer applications (HMC, VMC, 3-, 4-, 5-axis setups), analyze machining factors, collaborate with customers to address manufacturing challenges, develop workholding and forming solutions, create engineering concept drawings and 3D CAD models for Workholding and press brake applications, prepare formal quotations with pricing and lead times, and deliver high-level technical service while upholding Mate’s values. Requires 4+ years multi-axis VMC/HMC experience, strong workholding knowledge, CAD proficiency, GD&T, blueprint reading, and clear communication; on-site at Anoka headquarters five days a week.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 4 years of multi-axis VMC/HMC machining experience including machine setup and programming
- Strong working knowledge of workholding principles, clamping mechanics, and effects of material type/thickness
- Practical understanding of cutting tool design and performance
- Hands-on experience with various tooling designs and machining applications
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD (preferred)
- Excellent spatial reasoning; ability to visualize in 2D/3D
- Strong math skills related to force, tolerances, metric/inch conversions
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Basic understanding of GD&T
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and online research tools
- Effective verbal and written communication in English
