Job Summary
Set up and operate CNC surface grinding machines to finish high-precision mold and tooling components; read blueprints; grind to tight tolerances and surface finishes; select and install grinding wheels, tooling, and fixtures; perform offsets and program edits; inspect finished parts with precision measuring tools (micrometers, indicators, height gauges); maintain quality documentation; work with hardened tool steels in a fast-paced tooling environment; ensure safety and cleanliness while following company manufacturing standards.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ years of grinding or precision machining experience preferred
- Experience operating CNC surface grinders in a tooling or mold manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Experience grinding hardened tool steels and precision components
- Strong understanding of precision measuring instruments and inspection methods
- Ability to maintain tight tolerances and high cosmetic standards
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
