Job Summary
CNC Specialist role focused on setting up and operating CNC machines (Lathe or Milling) with responsibility for creating or editing efficient CNC programs to maximize machine utilization and product quality. Primary duties include setting up and running lathes or mills, developing efficient programs, maintaining CNC documentation, and supporting both shifts with training and issue resolution. Personnel will collaborate with Production Manager, Engineering, and other shop-floor staff to optimize tooling, reduce setup times, improve tooling life, and lead process-improvement initiatives. The role also involves maintaining tooling inventories, assisting with first article parts, and communicating across engineering and production to enhance performance. After-hours support and training responsibilities are anticipated as part of daily operations.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma/Degree or equivalent in CAM/CNC Programming
- 10+ years’ experience with Lathes and setting them up
- In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes such as Turning, Boring, Milling, Drilling and Tapping cycles
