Job Summary

Set up full production cycles and operate CNC lathes for turning, drilling, and live tooling while managing day-to-day department operations. Oversee employee performance through coaching, feedback, and evaluations, and assist with onboarding and ongoing training. Expedite shop orders to meet schedules, collaborate with cross-department teams, and ensure machines and work areas remain clean, safe, and organized. Identify process improvements, resolve production or personnel issues promptly, and enforce safety standards and compliance protocols. Maintain shop floor presence for two-thirds of the shift, reporting daily to the branch. 2nd shift, Monday through Thursday, 2:30 PM to 1:00 AM; 10-hour shifts.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in CNC programming, CNC operation, and machining
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate, guide, and develop team members to achieve individual and collective goals
  • Ability to maintain a consistent and active presence on the shop floor, spending approximately 2/3 of the shift overseeing operations
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to adjust to changing priorities and unexpected challenges while maintaining productivity and focus
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety, with a demonstrated ability to promote and enforce safety standards and practices
  • Proficiency in performance management processes, including creating plans of action and conducting employee evaluations
  • Highly detail-oriented, ensuring quality and precision in all tasks and responsibilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other relevant software
  • Strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively throughout the shift
  • Average math skills, with the ability to read and comprehend written instructions in English and complete logs, documents, and reports accurately
  • Must be able to report daily to the branch to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
