Job Summary
Review drawings, blueprints, and sketches to determine setup requirements and sequence of operations. Select, align, and secure fixtures, tools, and materials on machines while calculating controls for speed, feed, and coolant flow. Input or retrieve program codes, make minor edits to existing programs, and change tooling offsets to assure products meet tolerances. Perform first piece inspections and in-process quality control checks using micrometers, calipers, and go-no-go gages. Conduct routine maintenance on machines, complete paperwork including routing sheets and time sheets, and resolve machining issues with supervisors and engineers. Requires 3+ years of CNC experience, familiarity with M & G Codes, and ability to interpret drawings with limited supervision.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years' CNC experience
- Ability to interpret drawings, blueprints, and written / verbal instructions with limited supervision to setup and operate CNC equipment
- Familiar with M & G Codes as well as understanding how they are used to make edits in programs
- Ability to verify parts using quality measuring devices
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Stand for long periods of time
- Able to lean and reach
- Able to run manual equipment
