Job Summary
Set up and operate Okuma CNC lathes and mills, performing full setups including tooling, offsets, work holding, and program adjustments. Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T, and specifications to ensure precision machining. Verify part dimensions using calipers, micrometers, and height gauges while conducting in-process inspections to maintain tight tolerances. Troubleshoot machining issues and adjust programs as needed, maintaining equipment through routine cleaning and preventative maintenance. Follow safety procedures and quality standards throughout the weekend shift. This role requires 2–3 years of hands-on experience with Okuma machines and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Required Qualifications
- Previous hands-on experience operating and setting up Okuma CNC machines
- Minimum 2–3 years of CNC machining/setup experience (non–entry level)
- Strong understanding of machining processes, speeds/feeds, and tooling
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation
- Familiarity with precision measurement tools
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently
- Ability to work the full weekend shift (Fri/Sat/Sun)
