CNC Senior Set-up Programmer/Machinist

Job Summary
Set up and program multi-axis CNC mills and lathes for new customer requests, utilizing MasterCAM to generate G-code from blueprints and 3D models. Perform first article programming, dry runs, and edits to validate accuracy, while conducting in-process inspections to verify dimensions. Develop router sequences, bills of materials, and work centers to maintain accurate ERP systems, selecting appropriate tooling and fixturing for fabrication. Train machine operators on setup sheets and safe operations, and collaborate with quality teams to ensure AS9100 compliance and efficient manufacturing methods. This 100% on-site role in Carson, CA requires U.S. citizenship due to ITAR regulations and involves launching mission-critical aerospace components in a hands-on environment.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in aerospace CNC machining
- demonstrated expertise in CNC setup of mills, lathes and mill-turn CNC machines
- Proficiency with MasterCam (lathe, mill and multi-axis)
- Deep understanding of G-code, GD&T, blueprint reading, and aerospace tolerancing
- Experience working in AS9100/AS9102-regulated environments
- Familiarity with various aerospace alloys (e.g., titanium, Inconel, stainless steel, aluminum)
- U.S. person within the meaning of ITAR (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee)
- Must live within 25 miles of Carson, CA
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in a 'Make-to-Blueprint' job shop environment
- Experience with Fanuc, HAAS and DMG controllers
- Experience and Understanding of Master Routers (i.e. 'Item Masters', which require a Bill of Materials and Routing sequences for CNC operations)
- willingness/ability to learn Master Routers
- First article inspection (FAI) process experience per AS9102
- Lean or Six Sigma training
- Availability for 1st and OT when required
