Job Summary
The CNC Router Operator is responsible for setting-up, programming and operating a CNC Router according to instructions to produce parts as specified while maintaining safety and quality requirements. Responsibilities include setting up and operating the CNC machine to cut parts per blueprints and specifications, reviewing set up instructions and working from detailed blueprints while remaining able to fabricate parts as needed. Operates related tools (grinders, band saws, pallet jack, air hose, etc.), verifies part conformance with calipers, tape measure and height gauge, and enters/adjusts programs by setting tool registers and offsets and calculating requirements. Maintains production and quality logs, documents actions, and communicates across shifts. Ensures a safe workspace and clean/organized area. Obtains Forklift Certification per Company requirements and operates forklifts safely. Tracks production data per Work Area Instructions, inspects parts per Work Instructions and Customer Drawings to verify quality, monitors machine operations for malfunctions, notifies supervisors of defects, and uses computerized data entry and office software for data management. Demonstrates continuous improvement by identifying process improvements and contributing to a teamwork-focused environment, with professional communication toward colleagues and customers. Follow all Company Policies and perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read, write, understand and communicate effectively in English
- Basic knowledge of mathematics, including the use of a tape measure, calipers and height gauge and calculator
- Basic mechanical aptitude and knowledge of commonly used tools
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments
- Exhibits solid time management skills and ability to determine priorities in order to effectively accomplish a broad range of activities
