Job Summary

Develop, modify, and maintain CNC programs for fabrication equipment to produce sheet metal components. Review drawings and models to create manufacturing layouts, generate flat patterns and production-ready files, and assist with reverse engineering concepts into manufacturable designs. Evaluate production requirements to select efficient tooling and fabrication methods; create setup documentation and process standards; troubleshoot programming, machine operation, and production performance. Collaborate with engineering and production teams on new products and process improvements to improve machine utilization, cycle times, and overall manufacturing efficiency. Utilize CAD/CAM software and nesting tools (e.g., SolidWorks, CAMWorks, SigmaNEST, G-code) and work with CNC punch presses and fiber laser systems; strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes, tooling characteristics, and manufacturing documentation; capable of independent work in a fast-paced production environment.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience programming CNC punch press equipment in a sheet metal fabrication environment.
  • Experience with fabrication, machining, tooling, and CNC manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to read, edit, troubleshoot, and optimize G-code.
  • Experience using SolidWorks for sheet metal design.
  • Working knowledge of CAMWorks or comparable CAM software.
  • Experience using computerized nesting software, preferably SigmaNEST.
