Job Summary
Develop and optimize CNC machining processes for milling, turning, and grinding operations by creating, modifying, and validating programs using Siemens NX and Vericut simulation. Generate tool paths for 3, 4, and 5-axis centers while designing fixtures, work-holding, and gauging solutions to support quality investigations and corrective actions. Train machinists on setup procedures and best practices, then troubleshoot production issues on the floor to lead process improvement initiatives focused on cycle time reduction and cost savings. Collaborate with tooling vendors and manufacturing engineers to improve operations within an AS9100 regulated environment.
Required Qualifications
- 7–10+ years of CNC machining experience in milling, turning, and/or grinding
- 5–7+ years of CNC programming experience
- Strong Siemens NX programming experience
- CAD/CAM proficiency
- Experience programming 3, 4, and 5-axis machining centers
- Strong understanding of cutting tools, machining strategies, and metal removal processes
- Experience supporting shop floor machining operations and troubleshooting production issues
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of precision machining
- Experience working within an AS9100 or other highly regulated manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications
