Job Summary
The CNC Programmer develops and maintains CNC programs using GibbsCAM for large-component machining (shaft components, frames, bearing brackets, spiders, bases, covers) and provides technical shop-floor support to drive safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives. Key duties include selecting and optimizing tooling, feeds and speeds; programming with Fanuc controls for milling, boring, turning on horizontal/vertical machines; reviewing GD&T and 3D models to support production; designing basic fixtures and workholding; documenting CNC programs and manufacturing processes; and collaborating with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operations to solve problems and implement process improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in CNC Programming, Machining Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and practical experience
- Minimum 3 years of CNC programming experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with CAM software, preferably GibbsCAM
- Experience programming CNC machines with Fanuc controls
- Experience with milling, boring, turning, and large-component machining
- Ability to read and interpret 2D engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, and 3D CAD models
- Working knowledge of machining processes, cutting tools, workholding, feeds, and speeds
- Experience supporting production and troubleshooting machining processes
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
