Job Summary
CNC Programmer responsible for reading/interpreting drawings and programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines (Vertical/Horizontal/MMCs with 4th axis or trunnion, 5-axis). Responsibilities include programming per drawings/POs, laying out economical processes, designing fixtures/tools for repeatable parts, selecting cutting tools, supporting setup personnel, collaborating across departments to troubleshoot, and maintaining a safe, efficient work environment. Proficiency in Mastercam, Fanuc/Haas controls, GD&T (ASME Y14.5), print reading, and tooling design is required. Must have 3+ years of CNC setup/ machining experience and ability to work with various materials including exotic alloys, aluminum, steel, and plastic.
Required Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience as a CNC setup personnel
- Experience in machine shop practices and techniques
- Knowledge of cutting tools and tooling design
- Ability to design tooling, processes and fixturing
- Familiar with cutting materials including exotic alloys, aluminum, steel, and plastic
- Proficient in reading prints
- Proficient in NC programming for CNC machines
- Experience with MasterCAM software
- Knowledge of Fanuc and Haas Controls
- Strong GD&T (ASME Y14.5) knowledge
- Detail oriented
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to layout economical and sound processes
- Ability to design fixtures for repeatable parts
- Support and assist setup personnel during production
- Troubleshooting with other departments
- Maintain safe, efficient, and clean work environment
