Job Summary
Program, set, and operate 5-axis CNC machines to produce high-quality components meeting technical drawings, tolerances, and quality standards. Select appropriate materials, tools, and machining strategies while performing first-off and final checks for accuracy. Interpret CAD drawings and engineering information to deliver precise results, and conduct daily and weekly machine checks to maintain equipment. Report any issues promptly to the Production Manager. Work Monday to Friday from 6am to 2pm as part of the CNC team at ABG Rubber & Plastics in Northampton.
Required Qualifications
- Experience programming 5 axis CNC machines using CAD/CAM software
- Experience setting up and operating 5 axis CNC machinery
- Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and machining specifications
- High attention to detail with a strong understanding of precision measurement and machining processes
- Reliable
- Hands on
- Comfortable working as part of a team
- Proactive attitude
- Willing to support the wider production area when needed
- Strong practical skills
