Job Summary
Develop complex CNC programs for aerospace and semiconductor components using NX or Mastercam, focusing on advanced 5-axis work and exotic materials. Engineer creative workholding and fixturing solutions to ensure precision on mission-critical parts, then validate programs directly with machinists on the shop floor. Create comprehensive fabrication work instructions and apply Lean Manufacturing principles to reduce downtime and optimize cycle times. Troubleshoot dimensional and tooling issues through root cause analysis while interpreting engineering drawings to recommend process improvements. Requires hands-on setup experience and a machinist's mindset to bridge engineering and production.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 2–4 years of experience
- 5+ years of relevant NC/CNC programming experience
- 3+ years of hands-on CNC machinist and setup experience
- Ability to run the machines you program
- High proficiency in CAD/CAM programming using NX or Mastercam
- Proven experience with advanced 5-axis machining
- Proven experience with complex GD&T
- Experience working with exotic materials
- Exceptional ability to identify issues in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to develop technical, alternative solutions quickly
- Strong written and verbal skills
- Ability to translate complex engineering requirements into actionable work instructions for the shop floor
- Ability to handle the physical demands of the role
