Job Summary

Design and carry out tool path operations for 5-axis machining of aerospace components, analyzing drawings to determine cut configurations, tool selections, and feed rates. Prepare geometric layouts using CAD software to outline cutting sequences and reference points. Collaborate with Engineering CAD modelers and CNC machinists to ensure parts meet specifications, supporting trial runs to verify programmed instructions. Write instruction sheets and cutter lists to guide machine setup, then compare computer printouts with original programs to eliminate errors. Requires proficiency in Master Cam, Solidworks, and CATIA, along with a working knowledge of GD&T and G/M codes.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
  • three months to one year related experience and/or training
  • equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Previous experience as a machinist or machine setter, operator, and tender
  • apprenticeship programs
  • training in secondary, vocational, or technical college
  • Experience working with aerospace industry materials
  • Working knowledge of GD&T
  • Previous experience with computers
