CNC Programmer - contract

Job Summary
Develop CNC programs based on processes laid out by manufacturing engineer; collaborate with operators and manufacturing engineers to optimize machining; read and interpret GD&T requirements on engineering drawings; identify opportunities to optimize current machine programs; apply knowledge of cutting tool geometries, coatings, and applications; use databases to create tool lists, part routings, and update established programs; create and compile documents to aid machine setup; create tooling and fixturing prints in CAD; specify and procure tooling/fixturing; design, modify, and fabricate custom tooling and fixturing; work with tool manufacturers to improve cost, tool life, and throughput.
Required Qualifications
- Associates Degree in Programming preferred; High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum 5 years’ experience programming and machining
- CAD experience required
- CAM experience a plus
- Knowledge of GD&T on engineering drawings
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work with others as a team player
- Strong mathematical abilities (geometry, trigonometry) and practical application of fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions
