Job Summary
Hands-on CNC Press Brake Setup & Programmer responsible for independently programming, setting up, and operating CNC press brakes to produce high-quality sheet metal components to customer specifications. Reads blueprints and specifications to determine tooling and bend sequences, installs tooling, performs first-piece, in-process, and final inspections, troubleshoots issues to minimize downtime, maintains equipment and safety, and collaborates with production, quality, engineering, and leadership to meet customer requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience programming, setting up, and operating CNC press brakes in a manufacturing environment
- Strong sheet metal fabrication background with the ability to form steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
- Ability to independently perform complete machine setups with minimal supervision
- Experience determining tooling requirements and bend sequences from engineering drawings
- Proficiency reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions
- Working knowledge of press brake tooling, setup techniques, and preventative maintenance
- Experience using precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other inspection tools
- Strong math skills, including fractions, decimals, and metric conversions
- Experience with Amada® and/or Safan Darley® press brakes is highly preferred
