Job Summary
Setup and operate CNC machining centers, including CNC Lathe and CNC Mill; write and optimize CNC programs to create complex parts on multi-axis machines; prepare and operate CNC equipment with tool changes and programming edits; generate programs using CAM software and knowledge of cutting feeds and speeds; develop work holding solutions and select cutting tools; prepare, optimize, and maintain setup and operation documents; verify conformance of production parts via inspection methods; perform machine maintenance as required; integrate work with Engineering, Production, Quality, Purchasing, and Scheduling to ensure quality products; audit product quality and monitor operator quality check sheets; maintain a clean and safe work environment; provide ongoing training for production employees; work with little supervision and in designated shop areas.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; or minimum of three years’ experience in a metal shop using similar equipment
- Experience writing CNC programs in a machining environment
- Experience with CAD and CAM software
- Ability to program using MasterCAM Software
- Experience with measuring tools, such as calipers and micrometers
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and blueprints in English
