Job Summary
Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines including manual milling, lathes, drill presses, and grinding equipment to produce precision components. Follow drawings, identify and correct bottlenecks, and communicate issues to the Supervisor. Improve machining efficiency and quality while maintaining a clean, organized 5S work area. Measure to tight tolerances, complete dimensional inspection reports, and perform regular machine maintenance. Work the production schedule, prioritize daily tasks, and cross-train on multiple CNC machines within a LEAN manufacturing environment. Monday to Friday schedule, Nanaimo, BC location.
Required Qualifications
- Secondary school diploma or GED equivalent
- Able to raise or lower an object (up to 50lbs) from one level to another
- Must be comfortable in a fast-paced work environment
- Possess good interpersonal skills
- Excellent written English and verbal communication skills
- Assertive self-starter
- Excellent work ethic
- High energy level with the ability to work independently and in a team environment
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred work experience or post-Secondary related education in CNC Turning and/or Machining Centers
