Job Summary
CNC Programmer/Set-Up/Operator needed for programming, setting up, and operating CNC machining equipment in a tool & die shop. Responsibilities include developing programs using Fusion 360 from SolidWorks models, setting up Haas VF2 SS centers, selecting tooling and parameters, inspecting parts to specifications, supporting manual machining and tool-room activities, and maintaining accurate process, tooling, and inspection documentation. Requires 3-5 years shop-floor experience, strong G-code/M-code knowledge, and proficiency with SolidWorks, Fusion 360, and CAM, plus familiarity with inspection and fixturing.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years shop floor/hands-on experience creating, editing, and running G-code programs from Fusion 360 CAM
- Experience programming from SolidWorks-detailed 3D models (STEP) into CAM software
- Ability to set up Haas VF2 SS vertical machining center for production
- Knowledge of speeds, feeds, and tooling for various tool steel grades
- Familiarity with inspection equipment and documenting machining operations
- Experience with manual and automatic surface grinders is a plus
- Knowledge/experience with heat treating of tool steels is a plus
- Ability to document setup sheets, tooling sheets, and inspection forms
Desired Qualifications
- Experience programming, setting up, and operating CNC machining equipment

- Experience with Haas VF2 SS horizontal/vertical machining centers or similar
- Knowledge of speeds, feeds, and tooling for tool steels (e.g., A2, D2, M42)
- Inspection skills using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators
- Ability to document machining operations and maintain process/inspection records
- Manual machining skills on knee mills and lathes
- Familiarity with fixturing/workholding and inspection documentation
- Heat treating knowledge and manual/automatic surface grinding experience as pluses
