Job Summary
Review blueprints and setup charts to determine machine procedures and material specifications. Select and install attachments, including taper cams and cutting tools, then verify dimensions using precision measuring instruments. Perform trial runs and inspect sample parts to ensure conformance to engineering tolerances. Make machine adjustments to maintain quality standards and recommend process changes to improve efficiency. Create or modify tooling when necessary and cross-train on other departments as business needs require. Follow all safety and manufacturing procedures in a full-time, Monday-through-Friday role with overtime available.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in coiling and/or equivalent machine operation and setup
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications
- Experience using precision measuring instruments and inspection equipment
- Ability to read and interpret part specifications and blueprints
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement
- Must possess close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Vision correction is acceptable provided it complies with all applicable safety requirements
- Frequently stand and walk throughout the workday
- Frequently reach, handle, manipulate, push, pull, and lift materials and products
- Frequently lift, move, push, or pull up to 20 pounds
- Occasionally lift, move, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with cold winding, hot winding, lathes, mandrels, CNC machines, or related manufacturing equipment
- Manufacturing or machining experience in a fast-paced production environment
