Job Summary
Load and operate CNC machines to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts, ensuring conformance to specifications by studying blueprints and measurements. Use precision measuring instruments, monitor machine operations for malfunctions, and adjust controls as needed. Work collaboratively with set-up personnel to resolve machining issues, conduct machine maintenance, and transport finished parts. Candidates should exhibit competency in required job skills, demonstrate the ability to learn, and require minimal supervision.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- One to three months related experience and/or training
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating instructions
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to perform basic mathematical operations
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions
