Job Summary
CNC Operator responsible for fabricating parts for structural steel applications per cutting lists and shop drawings, ensuring accuracy to mill tolerances and AISC code requirements. Roles include identifying steel shapes/sizes, adjusting machines to achieve precise dimensions, reading cut lists and shop drawings, operating forklifts and cranes to move materials, and performing miscellaneous duties while adhering to safety and quality standards. Must pass shop-drawing interpretation and geometry-related assessments, read and interpret shop orders, and use measuring tools and computer-based cut-list systems. Requires strong arithmetic, ability to follow verbal/written instructions, effective communication with teammates, and reliable attendance; physical duties include frequent standing, lifting up to 60 pounds, and operating cranes. High school degree or equivalent and at least six months in a steel manufacturing environment are required.
