Job Summary
Operates a CNC machining station, managing tasks from initial reception of rough castings to visual inspection of precision products. Responsibilities include lifting products and loading them onto fixtures, operating CNC controls, conducting First Piece Checks, and visually inspecting parts for defects. The role requires attention to detail, minor troubleshooting abilities, and basic computer and math skills. Regular lifting of up to 40 pounds is required, and adherence to safety protocols is essential due to potential exposure to industrial noise and dust.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Six to twelve months related experience or training
- Ability to perform minor troubleshooting and determine causes and sources of error
- Basic computer skills
- Basic math skills (decimal system, min/max values)
- Ability to follow written work instructions and control plans
- Ability to follow verbal directions from supervisor, management, and all policies and procedures implemented by ConMet
Desired Qualifications
- Forklift license beneficial but not required
- SPC knowledge is beneficial but not required
