Job Summary

Review production schedules, work orders, and machining data before starting jobs. Verify programs, material specifications, tooling, and part orientation. Inspect raw sheet goods for defects and set up machine parameters including offsets, fixtures, and vacuum zones. Load approved programs, perform dry runs, and execute CNC operations on routers and machining centers while monitoring alarms and tool condition. Safely load, secure, and unload material; make only authorized adjustments to feeds and speeds. Inspect first-piece and in-process parts for dimensional accuracy and surface quality using calipers and gauges. Segregate nonconforming parts, document scrap, and coordinate with Engineering for discrepancies. Record job status, labor, and downtime in CAM systems. Complete pre-start inspections, routine maintenance, and safety protocols including lockout/tagout. Maintain a clean work area and participate in continuous improvement activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong ability to examine and interpret architectural blueprints for commercial/residential construction
  • Strong belief in the mission and goals of the company
  • Ability to read work orders, machining sheets, cut lists, labels, shop drawings, and basic technical documentation
  • Ability to use measuring and inspection tools and apply shop math, fractions, decimals, and basic geometry accurately
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to navigate approved CNC/CAM programs, job files, and production records
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to recognize tool wear, machining defects, and abnormal machine conditions

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous CNC machining experience in woodworking, cabinetry, furniture, architectural millwork, or a similar manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of CNC machine controls, tooling, offsets, vacuum hold-down, spoilboards, and basic G-code concepts
