Job Summary
Establish aerospace tool setups and validate programs for use on 3 and 5 axis machines. Operate numerical control machine programs for machining tools, details, and parts while maintaining safe operations through adherence to safety procedures and policies. Manage the numerical control database and read blueprints including geometric tolerance and GD&T. Perform duties as reasonably assigned by management. This role supports Ascent Aerospace's production and automated assembly systems for the aerospace and defense industry, requiring work in a manufacturing plant with exposure to moving mechanical parts and fumes.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- 5 years' experience in conventional machining and/or NC machining practices
- Responsible for Numerical Control Database Management
- Strong mathematical skills, including the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area circumferences and volume
- Ability to read and understand blueprints including geometric tolerance and understanding of general tolerances and GD&T
- U.S. Person as defined by 22.C.F.R.
- U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder')
- Must be able to wear the necessary personal protective gear (PPE) for most, if not all, of the working day
- Must be able to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Must be able to see, talk, hear, touch, feel and reach with hands and arms
- Must be able to frequently walk and stand for prolonged periods of time
- Must be able to lift and move up to 35lbs, occasionally lift and move objects up to 50lbs
- Must be able to pass and maintain certifications during the duration of employment that are required for using of business provided moving equipment

Desired Qualifications
- Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance: Though not required of this role, individuals that have current, previous, or are willing to go through the process to obtain and maintain during the duration of employment are preferred
