Job Summary
CNC Operator for 3rd shift in Abilene, TX. Set up and operate CNC lathe machines for turning, drilling, bar feeding, and live tooling; optimize setups and productivity; read blueprints and apply GD&T; troubleshoot programs; follow in-process inspection protocols; document shift activities; perform daily preventive maintenance; coordinate with supervisors and quality personnel; wear PPE and work in a non-climate-controlled shop. Requires knowledge of machining practices, metals, fixtures, and lathe tooling; experience with Okuma, Mazak, and Mori lathes preferred; strong math, documentation, and basic English communication; ability to lift and move heavy components; available for Sunday–Thursday 11:00 PM–7:00 AM; 3rd shift pay premium noted.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with Okuma, Mazak, and Mori lathe machines (preferred)
- GD&T knowledge
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and route instructions
- Strong math and measurement proficiency (calipers, gauges)
- Basic English communication for logs/reports
- Willingness to work 3rd shift and perform maintenance/checks as needed
