Job Summary
As a CNC Operator at Martin Sprocket & Gear, you will set up and operate CNC Lathe and Mill machines, optimizing processes and maintaining high-quality standards. Responsibilities include reading blueprints, troubleshooting programs, and ensuring compliance with inspection protocols. You should be proficient with measurement tools, possess strong math skills, and have a basic understanding of machining practices. Experience with specific lathe machines is preferred, and you must demonstrate reliability and the ability to collaborate within a team.
Required Qualifications
- CNC Operation: Set up full production cycle and operate CNC Lathe and Mill machines for tasks such as turning, drilling, bar feeding, milling, and live tooling
- Knowledge of calipers, gauges, and other required measuring tools
- Strong proficiency in basic math
- Ability to accurately document machining procedures
- Familiarity with metals, part-holding fixtures, and lathe/mill tooling
- Basic oral communication skills and ability to read, comprehend, and complete logs and reports in English
- Ability to handle heavy items, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and positioning components
- Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled shop environment
- Eagerness to be trained and a desire to learn new skills
- Dependable with a strong work ethic and a positive attitude
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Okuma, Mazak, and Mori lathe machines (preferred)
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong understanding of machining practices, materials, and general mechanical principles
