Job Summary
Operate 3, 4, and 5-axis milling and turning machines, including Fanuc controls, while loading parts onto fixtures and hoists. Set up and change over jobs, interpret operation sheets and CNC programs, and load tools using tool sheets. Work with hard metals like Inconel, Titanium, and Stainless Steel within tight thousandths tolerances using precision gauges. Read English symbols and apply Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing knowledge. Collaborate to solve complex issues while managing multiple machines in manufacturing cells. High school diploma required; 5+ years in aerospace preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read English and interpret symbols on operation sheets
- Must be proficient in mathematics and be able to use a calculator
- Must be able to read tool sheets and set up tools for use on a job or part
- Must have Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing knowledge
- Must possess the ability to work within tight tolerances such as thousandths
- Ability to run 3, 4 and 5 axis milling and/or turning machines
- Ability to work with hard metals such as Inconel, Titanium and Stainless Steel
- Ability to use Fanuc controls and make offsets as required by the program
- Ability to load part onto a fixture
- Ability to load parts and fixtures onto hoists and operate hoist to load part onto machine
- Ability to read and interpret CNC Programs at the machine
- Must be willing to run multiple machines simultaneously where possible/feasible as most machines are part of manufacturing cells/machining centers
Desired Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in an aerospace or high precision manufacturing environment
- 3+ years of experience operating CNC multi-axis Milling/Turning machine
- Experience setting up and changing over jobs on CNC equipment
- Exceptional mechanical ability and strong mathematical skills
- Excellent communication skills and problem-solving ability with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to solve complex issues
- Good attitude and a willingness to learn and new trade or skill
