Job Summary
Conduct CNC machining operations on mills and lathes for turning, drilling, boring, threading, tapping, and milling. Interpret blueprints and engineering drawings to produce consistent parts to spec and on schedule. Create tooling offsets and adjust machine parameters to close tolerances while recognizing and correcting malfunctions. Set tools and calibrate equipment to handle varying changeover rates in a production environment. Collaborate with coworkers to instruct on machining techniques and observe changes in part characteristics and machine sounds. Operate multiple machines with flexibility to manage different operations efficiently.
Required Qualifications
- Able to receive and retain advanced CNC operation, setup, and program adjustments training
- Create tooling offsets and adjustments to the manufacturer to consistently close tolerances
- Set tools, calibrate, and operate CNC machines and lathes for various operations including turning, drilling, boring, threading, tapping, and milling
- Interpret blueprints/engineering drawings
- Ability to recognize and correct malfunctions
- Work in a team atmosphere to assist/instruct coworkers with machining techniques
- Setting up and operating mills and lathes in a production environment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints
- Manufacture to close tolerances
