Job Summary
Develop, test, and implement CNC programs for 3-axis and 5-axis mills, selecting cutting tools, fixtures, and machine parameters to optimize cycle time and surface finish. Perform first-article inspections, troubleshoot machining issues, and collaborate with engineers to refine designs. Maintain CNC program libraries, implement quality control measures, and interpret blueprints and GD&T specifications. This role requires proficiency in CAM software like Mastercam or Fusion 360, strong G-code knowledge, and experience with various tooling and workholding methods.
Required Qualifications
- Proficient in CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, GibbsCAM) for generating G-code.
- Strong understanding of G-code and M-code for CNC milling operations.
- Ability to interpret engineering blueprints, CAD models, and GD&T specifications.
- Experience with various tooling, fixturing, and workholding methods for CNC mills.
- Knowledge of different materials and their machining characteristics.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with 5-axis programming.
- Familiarity with a variety of CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidCAM).
- Ability to perform minor machine maintenance or troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of G-code and M-code editing at the machine control.
- Experience with CMM inspection or quality control processes.
