Job Summary
CNC Mill Operator/Machinist responsible for setting up, operating, and optimizing CNC milling machines (3-axis, 4-axis, or 5-axis) to produce high-precision components per engineering drawings. Responsibilities include loading materials, installing tooling/fixtures/workholding, monitoring processes to meet tolerances, performing in-process and final inspection with calipers, micrometers, and height gauges, troubleshooting machining issues with engineering or programming teams, and maintaining equipment and a clean, safe shop floor. Requires reading blueprints/working instructions, familiarity with CNC controls, and strong attention to detail in a fast-paced manufacturing environment based in Berlin, CT.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school training preferred
- 2+ years of CNC milling experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of milling operations, tooling, feeds and speeds, and materials
- Ability to read blueprints
- Experience with CNC controls
- Proficiency with precision measurement tools and inspection techniques
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
