Job Summary
Machinist role performing setup & operation of CNC milling and turning equipment on a production basis. Reads blueprints/drawings, determines dimensions and tolerances, and follows bill of operations. Sets up machines, selects and secures fixtures and cutting tools, and adjusts controls to achieve required tolerances. Responsible for verifying parts against specifications and complying with blueprint requirements. May perform simple to advanced inspection operations following written instructions. Must have experience with lathes and mills, fixture usage, speeds/feeds, and tool sharpening; knowledge of inspection techniques and shop math is required. ITAR-compliant environment; aerospace/defense market focus.
Required Qualifications
- 8 years of experience setting up and operating CNC machines
- Must setup & operate mills and lathes in a safe & accurate manner
- Must have basic knowledge of fixture use
- Establish speeds and feed rates for the machine
- Ability to sharpen drills, end mills, lathe bits
- Must protect parts from damage before, during & after
- Experience machining castings is a plus
- Read and interpret blueprints and drawings
