Job Summary

Design and commission processes for new product introductions while optimizing production assembly and test methods to meet cost targets. Develop assembly and detail tooling drawings, floor layouts, and manufacturing cells, ensuring design standards are met and checking drawings as needed. Provide technical support to manufacturing departments, assist the Materials Department in vendor selection, and establish product acceptance criteria through preproduction runs. Coordinate project planning, control, integration, and completion with functional authority. Work with vendors to ensure economical manufacturing processes and tooling, while assisting the Quality Department in developing procedures and work instructions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • Mechanical, Mechatronics or Manufacturing Technology degree
  • 1-3 years prior Manufacturing Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of design software (SolidWorks), database software, MS windows, and MS Word and Excel
  • Minitab
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend English
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations
  • Blueprint interpretation
  • Geometric dimensioning and tolerance
  • Familiar with computer-based system operation
  • Knowledge of APQP, manufacturing and quality processes and capabilities
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups or managers, client, customers, and the public
  • Self-starter and Motivator: Able to develop effective cross functional relationships

  • Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism such as formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc in its most difficult phases
  • Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables
  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determinations of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation, techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis

Desired Qualifications

  • Mechanical, Mechatronics or Manufacturing Technology degree
  • 1-3 years prior Manufacturing Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment a plus
  • Minitab a Plus
