Job Summary
Machinist Level 3 responsible for complex setups in the home department with cross-training to CNC lathe, manual mill, and manual lathe. Duties include performing complex, independent setups; training on and running machines outside the home department; troubleshooting machines, tooling, or dimensional issues; supporting fixture and process improvements; mentoring Machinist I and II; and collaborating with leads and programmers to optimize machining processes. Requires a high school diploma or GED; technical machining education strongly preferred; proficient in CNC and manual setups; experience in reading blueprints and GD&T; ability to stand for long periods and handle physical tasks as described in the role. Working environment involves exposure to moving parts, noise, and fumes; reasonable accommodations may be made.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Technical, vocational, or trade-school machining education strongly preferred
- Independently performs complex CNC and manual machine setups
- Proficient in-home department (Mill or Lathe)
- Reads and interprets complex blueprints and GD&T
