CNC Machinist - Weekend Shift

Job Summary

Operate CNC lathes, mills, and multi-axis equipment to produce parts from stainless steel and other metals within exacting tolerances. Interpret blueprints and specs to set up and run first-piece runs, using micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions. Perform routine maintenance on machines and auxiliary equipment, including deburring parts and managing tooling. Work independently on a steady weekend schedule from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Friday through Sunday, earning paid time for 40 hours. Required Qualifications

  • 6–9 years of experience running the show in a CNC Machinist role
  • Deep knowledge of CNC equipment, shop tools, and metalworking best practices
  • Someone who treats quality standards and ISO like a code of honor
  • A cool head under pressure and an eye for clean work
  • Weekend shift availability (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
  • 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM schedule
  • 36 hours work week
  • Precision CNC machining fluency
  • Ability to understand interrelated dimensions
  • Operating basic manual and CNC shop equipment and tools safely and skillfully
  • Performing machining operations on all materials (e.g., ferrous, nonferrous metals, alloys, etc.)
  • Meeting and sustaining established quality and production volume performance criteria
  • Working to job batch parts list, prints, drawings, specifications, and procedures to produce parts
  • Possessing and maintaining a thorough knowledge of industry, equipment, and techniques related to the role
  • Setting up and/or breaking down essential CNC and/or manual equipment, fixtures, and tooling
  • Utilizing pressure-regulated air hoses; deburring parts and edges to drawing specifications and shop standards
  • Using saws, sanders, grinders, and other equipment to prepare and produce rough parts
  • Performing routine maintenance of machines and auxiliary equipment
  • Using CNC/manual equipment to manufacture simple and complex parts having many interrelated dimensions, compound angles, and coordinate and exacting tolerances
  • Operating a variety of CNC/manual machines including but not limited to lathes, mills, and multi-axis work centers
  • Producing parts within required tolerances according to prints, designs, and specs
  • Receiving, checking, and verifying sub-parts needed for work orders; assisting in solving discrepancies
  • Selecting appropriate cutting tools to maximize efficiency and ensure the quality of the product
  • Using a variety of precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, etc.)
  • Maintaining accurate dimensional tolerances based on work instructions
  • Vouchering time accurately for daily work and neatly completing production forms as required
  • Reworking and calibrating production parts and machine tooling as required; continuously checking for accuracy
  • Promoting, guiding, and assisting others to meet Quality Policy and ISO standards and customer expectations
  • Producing, preparing, and providing part to Quality for First Piece Inspection
  • Inspecting part characteristics at in-process and final checkpoints as required by specifications
  • Preparing parts with a focus on uniformity, quality, and workmanship
  • Ensuring all required documentation is completed at each stage of production
  • Receiving and understanding daily job assignments, priorities, and work instruction
  • Organizing, cleaning, and maintaining area tools and equipment in the work area
  • Assuring all department work centers and related areas are safely maintained, clean, and organized
  • Performing all work within the scope of abilities under all quality and safety policies and practices
  • Establishing and maintaining effective, positive, and professional communication with all co-workers
  • Willingly performing other duties as trained and able
