CNC Machinist

Job Summary
Set up and operate CNC lathes, milling machines, presses, grinders, and saws to construct metal parts and assemblies. Program CNC equipment using engineering drawings, CAD models, and G and M codes while selecting and preparing tools for various materials. Perform dimensional inspection using mathematics and charts, troubleshoot machine issues, and execute preventive maintenance including cleaning and tool sharpening. Collaborate with engineers to improve machining cycle time and process efficiency, while following shop orders and performing 5S protocols. Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of technical training
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Minimum 2 – 5 years' previous experience of programming and operating CNC mills
- Familiar with all aspects of inspection, GD&T, engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications
- Experienced in operating manual mills, lathes, drilling, presses, saw, surface grinders, and other support equipment
- Proficient at computer programming and CAD/CAM
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with arc welding and gas / plasma torch
