CNC Machinist - Turning 2nd shift

Job Summary

Set up and operate vertical and horizontal multi-axis turning machinery to produce precision aerospace components using materials like aluminum, titanium, and nickel alloys. Perform manual inspections with micrometers and indicators, read operation sheets, and document performance issues to minimize downtime. Adhere to safety policies, maintain clean work areas, and participate in process improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing tools. Work the 2nd shift in a loud environment with exposure to metals and chemicals, requiring full PPE including safety glasses and hearing protection. US citizenship and a high school diploma are required, with technical school training or two years of CNC experience preferred.

Required Qualifications

  • US Citizen
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Technical school graduate in machining or two years of CNC experience
  • Basic understanding of math or industrial mathematics
  • Good written and verbal skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to read technical drawings
  • Ability to set, use or setup various measuring devices
  • Solid problem solving skills
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended period of time on a concrete manufacturing floor
  • Fine motor skills with frequent hand and arm movement
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Moderate twisting and bending
  • Moderate climbing on step stools or platforms

Desired Qualifications

  • Aerospace experience preferred
