Job Summary
Operate and adjust CNC Horizontal and Vertical Machining Centers and Lathes to produce high-quality parts within exacting tolerances. Load/unload components, inspect finished goods, and perform in-process measurements to maintain statistical process control. Execute operations including turning, boring, drilling, tapping, and profiling while reading G-code programs and creating fixturing for repeat jobs. Conduct daily and scheduled preventative maintenance checks, clean work areas, and perform general shop tasks as assigned. Requires ability to lift up to 40 pounds, stand for long periods, and read technical drawings. Overtime hours may be required.
Required Qualifications
- High school education with V-Tech or Technical school background, or equivalent
- journeyman papers a plus
- Knowledge of machining techniques and methods
- Familiarity with CNC Machine tool operating procedures
- Ability to read and edit standard "G" code programs
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and engage in repetitive pushing/pulling actions
- Ability to safely lift and carry up to 40 pounds
- Good fine motor skills
- Ability to work overtime hours
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with Mazak and Makino Horizontal Machining Centers
- Familiarity with Fadal and Haas Vertical Machining Centers
- Familiarity with Mazak and Puma CNC Lathes
- Familiarity with operations such as turning, boring, drilling, tapping, thread-milling, profiling, and contouring
- Ability to make machine adjustments to compensate for tool wear
- Ability to work from drawings and specifications
- Familiarity with production processes and understanding of job packet documents
- Ability to set-up repeat jobs and create fixturing for new jobs
- Ability to perform in process measurements and keep parts in statistical process control
- Familiarity with the quality system
