CNC Machinist

Job Summary
Set up, operate, and maintain conventional and CNC machining equipment to fabricate metal and non-metal components. Review blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, and machining requirements. Measure and mark materials to guide processes; select, align, and secure fixtures and tools; adjust machine controls for speed, feed, coolant, and depth. Monitor operations for malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions and verify finished parts meet specifications. Install machined parts in equipment and test for proper fit and operation. Collaborate with engineers, programmers, and production personnel to resolve issues; write CNC programs for lathes and mills as needed. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment and follow safety procedures and company policies.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- 1–3 months of related machining experience or equivalent training
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
- Strong mathematical skills, including geometry, algebra, and basic calculations
- Ability to solve practical problems and work with non-standardized instructions
- Strong communication skills and ability to complete written documentation
- Understanding of machining processes, measuring tools, and machine controls
