Job Summary
Setup and run low volume production and prototype parts on CNC machines to customer and in-house specifications. Work from prints, sketches, and verbal instructions while making standard shop calculations for dimensions, tooling, feeds, and speeds. Machine a variety of materials including aluminum, stainless, titanium, and steels, making own setups using shop support tooling. Keep detailed notes, measure and record dimensions, and maintain compliance with all safety standards. Notify the manager of non-conformances and enter labor hours into the ERP system. Requires 3-5 years of shop experience on complex precision parts, proficiency in reading drawings and GD&T, and ability to adjust cutter compensation. Must be a U.S. person per ITAR requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years shop experience on complex precision parts and tooling for aerospace and other advanced industries
- Must be proficient in the use of a variety of standard tools and precision measuring instruments
- Must be able to check your work
- Must be able to hold positional and size tolerance as required by drawing and or sketch
- Experience in milling on 3 and 4 axis vertical and horizontal machining centers
- Experience in turning on both small and large parts on 2 axis lathe machining centers
- Thorough knowledge of shop math, measuring techniques
- Must be able to read drawings and engineering specifications
- Understanding of cutter compensation and be able to adjust offset accordingly
- The ability to read and understand basic G & M code
- High School Diploma plus education in trade schools and/or certified training in manufacturing
- Apprenticeship completion
- Ability to communicate clearly with supervisor and coworkers
- Must have good oral & written communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to apply common sense and be able to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving limited variables in manufacturing process
- Must be U.S. Persons as defined by U.S. law, i.e., U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents ('Green Card' holders), persons granted refugee status or asylum status in the United States, or temporary residents granted amnesty
Desired Qualifications
- Experience on manual machines a plus
- Apprenticeship completion preferred
