CNC Machinist

Job Summary
Responsible for programming and operating CNC machines to produce high-quality machined parts for custom designed packaging machines. Responsibilities include reading engineering prints, designing fixtures, conducting machine setups and shutdowns, performing inspections using precision measuring tools, deburring parts, and maintaining a safe workspace. Requires familiarity with CNC setup and operations, manual machining techniques, and adherence to safety procedures. The position involves occasional local travel and overtime work.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience or completion of a 1 or 2-year Tool Technology or related program
- Familiarity with CNC set up, programming and running VMC machines
- Familiarity with manual machining operations including mills, lathes and saws
- Ability to read and interpret detailed blueprint drawings
- Must have a valid driver’s license
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to perform basic math including converting between fractions and decimals
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to multi-task
- Ability to stay organized and ensure work area is clean and safe
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals
